Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle
2008 date: September 6th, 2008The fifth Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle, chaired by the First
Lady of California, Maria Shriver, will take riders 100, 62 (100K) or
15-miles down a stunning stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway from the
Chateau Julien Wine Estate in Carmel to the magnificent Hearst Castle in San
Simeon on September 6, 2008.
Participants will have the chance to ride side-by-side some of the legends
of the sport--riders from CSC like Lars Michaelsen and T-Mobile like Axel
Merckx--as they tackle the same challenging, beautiful stretch that the
world's top professionals will be racing down in Stage Four of the 2008
Amgen Tour of California.
The Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle is truly a five star cycling
experience. After the ride all participants receive hot showers and massages
at the finish line before heading over to a star-studded private party,
gourmet barbeque and intimate concert by a special guest musician at the
Hearst Ranch. The event is open to individuals and families of all ages and
abilities.
The Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle is in celebration and support
of Best Buddies International and its programs that are dedicated to
enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing
opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. 100
percent of the money raised by participants in the Audi Best Buddies
Challenge: Hearst Castle goes to funding Best Buddies programs, which
positively impact over 350,000 people each year and engage participants in
all 50 states and on six continents.
